Two young lovers. Two disapproving fathers. One scheming servant with a bag full of tricks. In The Impostures of Scapin, Molière crafts a whirlwind of deception, disguise, and deliciously clever trickery. When Octave and Léandre fall in love with women deemed unsuitable by their domineering fathers, they turn to the only man who might save them: Scapin—the sly, sharp-tongued servant who thrives on chaos. With fast-paced dialogue and hilarious plot twists, Scapin pulls every stunt in the book to outwit the old men and unite the lovers. Inspired by the traditions of Italian commedia dell’arte, this uproarious farce blends physical comedy with verbal wit, showcasing Molière's talent for exposing human foolishness with flair and laughter.
